Notes for John Gass:
John Gass(1733-1821) was buried beside his parents Nichol(as) Gass(1689-1746) and Jean Wightman(1798-1786) and with his wife Margerie Nelson(1756-1840). Along with John's son Thomas(1792-1863) they are all mentioned on the same gravestone inscription. Nearby is William Gass(1666-1749 and Janet Thomson(177?-1743) of Butterdales who are likely to be the parents of Nichol Gass although the given age for Janet Thomson who died aged 66 in 1743 makes that look unlikely although she could be a second wife of William?.....R Wilson
